Scope
Wassily's database spans millions of auction records covering fine art, prints, photographs, sculpture, decorative arts, and more. Results come from a wide range of auction houses — from the largest international firms to regional and specialist sales.
Categories
Our records include paintings, works on paper, prints and multiples, photographs, sculpture, mixed media, and select categories of decorative art and design. Coverage varies by period and region, and we are always expanding into new areas.
Auction houses
We track results from hundreds of auction houses worldwide. Major international houses are covered comprehensively, and we continuously add regional and specialist firms to broaden our view of the market.
Bought-in data
Unlike many auction databases, Wassily includes bought-in (unsold) lot data where available. This gives you a fuller picture of market demand — not just what sold, but what didn't.
Update frequency
New auction results are added to the database on a regular basis. We aim to make recent sales data available as quickly as possible after each sale.
Data quality
Every record goes through normalization and validation to ensure consistency across sources. We standardize artist names, dimensions, currencies, and lot descriptions so that searches return accurate, comparable results.
